‘Supernatural’ Angel to Hunt Vampires on ‘Vampire Diaries’

Sebastian Roche, the man who once played the angel Balthazar on the hit show “Supernatural,” is trading in his wings and replacing them with vampire slaying weapons. Roche has just signed on for the third season of “The Vampire Diaries” to play a recurring character said to be “a very mysterious man who appears to be hunting vampires, most specifically Klaus.” The upcoming character was originally named Eric, but his name will be changed to avoid unwanted “ True Blood ” comparisons since the CW show will also introduce a new character named Bill in season 3. Both Bill, who will be played by former “Heroes” star Jack Coleman , and Roche’s character are expected to appear during the first part of season 3.

Hurray! The CW recently announced that two of our favorite shows, The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural , will be back for another season in Fall 2011! That means we’re getting another entire season of sexy vampire brothers! And, hopefully, another Supernatural season full of vampires! According to the CW blog : “The CW’s bloodily addictive hit THE VAMPIRE DIARIES was also given an early renewal, and in its sophomore season, remains the network’s most-watched show (4.0 million viewers) and the network’s number-one show among its target audience of women 18-34 (2.9/9). The network also renewed fan favorite SUPERNATURAL, which enters its seventh season next year. In moving to Fridays last September, SUPERNATURAL immediately helped make The CW more competitive on the night and dramatically contributed to year-to-year gains on Friday of 66% in adults 18-34 and 60% in viewers.” More vampire-y filled goodness on the way!!! Eh, I saw a picture of him just a few minutes ago and couldn’t help but kinda be like “eh…, he’s no Damon Salvatore. Hell, he isn’t even Stefan.” In fact, as far as vampires go, it actually looks as if someone took Stefan Salvator, and Armand (circa Antonio Banderas, IwaV) popped them into a blender, and poured what was left into a human mold, set it to bake at 350F and waited the full 30 minutes, then out popped: Sam Witwer’s ‘Aidan’ Not that Witwer as a human being isn’t attractive, it’s just that his face doesn’t really convey …

This will be the first ever North American gathering for fans of the series who will be immersed into the world of their favorite vampire series! The stars of Vampire Diaries have not made very many appearances at all, this may be your only opportunity to not only meet them, but to party with them! The exposure to the celebrities will be unprecedented as the weekend will feature games, panels, parties, Celebrity Q&A and Photo Op Sessions, Celebrity Autograph Sessions, a Cocktail Party and Banquet with the Stars, and a Masquerade Ball on Saturday Evening, all of which will feature our amazing celebrity lineup!
